Apparatus

Erie Valley Fire and Rescue utilizes a variety of apparatus and equipment. Our apparatus consists of 3 ambulances, an Engine, a Rescue, 2 Tankers, a Command Vehicle, a Grass Truck, and a Gator.

Medic 1, 2 and 3 are used for responding to all medical calls, fire calls, and transporting patients. An ambulance is staffed with an EMT and a Paramedic.

Engine 1 is our first out apparatus for any fire related call in our area. Engine 1 is a 2015 Rosenbauer Commander with a 1000 gallon water tank and can pump up to 1500 gallons per minute. Engine 1 offers state of the art technology in fire suppression and safety.

Rescue 2 is a 2004 E-One Typhoon. It is utilized primarily for motor vehicle accidents and traffic control. Equipped with rescue and extrication tools as well as a water pump and on board fire foam system, Rescue 2 is able to supply rescue operations, chemical spill control and fire suppression operations.

Tanker 3 and Tanker 4 are used for the transport and delivery of water in areas without, or limited supply, of water. Tanker 3 is the oldest apparatus in our fleet. It is a 1986 FMC pumper/tanker with a 2500 gallon tank. Tanker 4 is the newest apparatus in our fleet. It is a 2019 Fouts Brothers pumper/tanker with a 3000 Gallon Tank.

Our Command Vehicle, Car 1, is a 2004 Ford Expedition. Car 1 is utilized for a variety of reasons. It is designed and equipped to handle large incidents, as well as the transport of needed supplies, tools, personnel to, from, and around incident scenes. It also carries basic EMS supplies to assist on EMS calls.

Grass 5 is a 2015 Ford F-250. It is our brush and field fire apparatus. Capable of driving off road in rough terrain, Grass 5 offers a slide in-bed water tank and pump to fight fires off the beaten path!

Gator 9 is a 2007 John Deere Gator TH Diesel. It is used primarily for fire suppression and rescue operations for individuals in areas which our other units cannot reach. It's used mostly in wooded areas, and the Ohio Towpath Trail. Equipped with both a medical bed and fire pump, Gator 9 is capable of maximum stabilization of a patient or suppression of very rural brush fires.
